Mango Kheer

With the richness of vermicelli and the sweetness & tanginess of mango pulp, this recipe is a unique treat to the tastebuds. Here is how to make the rich, creamy and smooth mango kheer!

Ingredients:

• 5 tbsps of mango pulp
• ½ cup vermicelli (sevaiyan)
• ½ tbsp ghee
• 5 tbsp sugar
• 3 cups of full-fat milk
• ½ cup of water
• 4 tbsp chopped mangoes for garnish

Cooking Instructions:

  • Start by putting ghee on a broad non-stick pan.
  •  After the ghee melts, add the vermicelli and cook it for 2 minutes on a low flame until it turns golden brown, after which keep it aside.
  • Combine the 3 cups of milk and ½ cup of water in a deep non-stick pan, mix it until well combined and cook on medium flame for 6 minutes, stirring every now and then. 
  • Now add the sugar to the milk and cook for 10 minutes while stirring from time to time.
  • Put the roasted vermicelli, and keep cooking on a medium flame for 10 minutes while again stirring occasionally.
  • Remove it from the stove, cool it completely and then add the mango pulp and mix it until well combined. 
  • Refrigerate it for one hour or more. 
  • Finally, garnish it with the chopped mangoes and serve chilled
